| MAPS Athletic Facilities to be Upgraded - Wednesday, July 23, 2008On July 21 the Marquette Area Public Schools Board of Education voted unanimously to support proposed upgrades to district athletic facilities. This project will involve construction of a new concession and lavatory building, a ticketing booth and lighted patio areas. These facilities will replace current structures located within the stadium. The Board’s July 21 action provides $375,322 from the school system’s Capital Projects Fund to support this initiative. | Changes in Board of Education Committee Structure...and More - Thursday, July 10, 2008Following extended study, consideration of options, and public discussions, the Marquette Area Public Schools Board of Education determined that a revised model of district governance might better serve our community and the Board’s contribution to quality school programs. | K-3 Classroom Consolidation - Wednesday, June 11, 2008Marquette Area Public Schools’ June 9 Board of Education meeting included discussion regarding implementation of proposed K-3 Classroom Consolidation recommendations. That board meeting provided our community with a second opportunity to weigh in on an important topic. The session's information was included in a Power Point which contained information brought into focus during the Board of Education's June 4 work session. Please take time to review the following slides that were part of the June 9 board meeting. Second, the Board of Education is interested in determining whether a second work session regarding proposed K-3 classroom consolidation is needed.
