Carol Margrif is a local Marquette resident who was Director of the American Lung Association and former MAPS School Board member. She currently helps facilitate programs for Life Long Learning programming through NMU. She has been a world traveler most of her life and brings us a look at her world-wide creche collection in this Global Vision presentation. Her message to students is to find an interest that inspires them to learn more about the world and its people.

Follow up note from Mrs. Margrif:

"I really enjoyed doing the presentation and the students were so attentive, well-behaved, and asked good questions. Hope this little item comes in handy for your classroom."  Mrs. Margrif

Let us celebrate all that connects us to one another.

Student Response:

"Dear Mrs. Margriff,

I am Katelynn. I saw your presentation and I thought it was wonderful. I like all of the crèches but one, stood out to me. It was the crèche inside of the geo. I wondered how the person who made it got the crèche small enough to put into the geo, how they thought of it, and how did they get it in the geo?

When I saw all of the crèches, they reminded me that I made some Christmas ornaments in kindergarten. They represent countries from all around the world. They are Ireland, China, Holland, Russia, Mexico, Great Britain, United States, Israel, Greece, and Guatemala. The ornaments are a lantern from China, a mini piñata from Mexico, a cracker from Great Britain and Ireland, a windmill from Holland, a candy cane from the United States, Star of David from Israel, a nesting doll from Russia, worry beads from Greece, a worry doll from Guatemala, and an International manger.

I have some pictures you can look at if you are interested. Thank you for taking the time to read my letter and I really enjoyed your presentation.

                                                                Sincerely, Katelynn
